ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ingo Swann -- my uncle, the artist and the man often called the “father of remote viewing” -- once told me the only way to truly know something is to experience it firsthand. That insight shaped both my life and my writing.

I’m Elly Flippen. My work grows out of a lifelong fascination with awareness, perception, and the ways reality shifts depending on how we choose to look at it. Much of that outlook comes from my years with Ingo, who taught me to see consciousness as at once mysterious and endlessly creative.

I studied at Vassar and Columbia, but my truest education came from watching him blur the lines between science, art, and imagination. For Conjunction.World: A Journey Through the Mirror, I set out to explore perception and multidimensional awareness as lived experience. Frequencies of the Damned continues that journey, carrying forward the questions that matter most to me: What remains hidden? What might be possible? And what is already alive within us, waiting to be remembered?

MY STORY

Every myth has roots. Every story carries echoes of forgotten histories and deeper patterns. For me, writing Frequencies of the Damned was never just about telling tales, it was about exploring thresholds of awareness, where perception blurs, reality bends, and imagination becomes a way of knowing.

My years with Ingo gave me rare access to his experiments, artistic processes, and uniquely symbolic approach to life. Those experiences impressed upon me the idea that consciousness is vast, multidimensional, and largely unexplored. The novellas carry threads of that influence -- perceptual research, speculative reflections on non-human intelligences, dialogues with plants and signals. But what moves me most is not the data or protocols. It’s the questions they leave behind: How do we know what we know? Where does awareness begin and end? How much of reality do we filter out before we even notice it’s there?

Frequencies of the Damned is my way of carrying those questions forward. In weaving these stories and creating the materials on this website, my aim is not to provide answers but to open doorways -- to invite readers to reconsider what’s hidden, what’s possible, and what’s already alive within us.
